Introduction
This policy explains what personal information addhass collects, why we collect it, and what you can do about it. We have written it in plain English rather than legal boilerplate. If anything here is unclear, ask us and we will explain it.
Who we are
addhass is the trading name of Addam Hassan, a sole trader based at 20 Valeside, Hertford, Hertfordshire, SG14 2AR, United Kingdom. For the purposes of UK data protection law we are the data controller for the information described in this policy. You can reach us at addam@addhass.com.
Information we collect
We collect very little, and only what we need.
Information you give us. Your name, email address, company and whatever you choose to tell us when you contact us through this website or by email.
Information collected automatically. If you accept analytics cookies, standard analytics data about how this site is used: pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser type, and how you arrived. This is aggregated and does not identify you personally.
Client engagement data. If we work together, the information needed to deliver the work and invoice for it, including access you grant us to your own analytics and search tools.
Lawful basis
We rely on four lawful bases. Consent, for the optional analytics cookies described under Cookies and analytics. Legitimate interests, for responding to an enquiry you have made. Contract, for delivering work you have engaged us to do. Legal obligation, for keeping financial records that HMRC requires.
How we use your information
To reply to your enquiry, to deliver and manage work you have engaged us for, to send invoices and keep accounts, and to improve this website. We do not sell your information. We do not add you to a marketing list because you contacted us.
Information sharing
We share information only where it is necessary: with the tools we use to run the business, such as email, accounting and analytics providers, and with HMRC or other authorities where the law requires it. Where a client has engaged us through an agency, we share only what that engagement requires. We do not pass your details to anyone else.
Data retention
Enquiries that do not become work are deleted within twelve months. Client records are kept for the duration of the engagement and then for six years, which is the period UK tax law requires for financial records. Analytics data is kept for up to fourteen months.
Data security
Information is held in reputable, access-controlled services with multi-factor authentication enabled. Access is limited to Addam and, where an engagement requires it, to named specialists bound by the same confidentiality terms. No system is perfectly secure, and we will tell you promptly if a breach affects your information.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to access the information we hold about you, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive it in a portable format. To exercise any of these, email addam@addhass.com and we will respond within one month. If you are not satisfied with our response you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Cookies and analytics
This site sets no cookies until you make a choice on the cookie banner. Your choice itself is saved in your browser’s local storage, so the banner does not ask again on every page. Analytics cookies are set only if you click Accept. We use Google Analytics, which tells us which pages are read and how people arrive, not who you are. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using the Cookie settings link at the foot of every page, or block and delete cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work.

This site may link to other websites. We are not responsible for their privacy practices, and we would encourage you to read their policies before sharing anything with them.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes we will update the date shown on this page. Material changes affecting existing clients will be communicated directly.
